Parent Volunteers For Our Class Booths this Saturday
As you know, our annual Fall Festival is this Saturday, November 14 from 3-6 PM. During our recent class community meeting our class voted to participate. The students also had a big discussion on which booths to choose. The vote was split 50 - 50 so your children decided to have two booths. One for rock painting and one for bowling with two liter soda bottles. Please consider supporting your child by manning a booth for one hour and or sending the supplies we need to have these booths. The sign up list is on our door. You can also e-mail me or call. Thank you so much!! Yes, there is a lot happening at this wonderful autumn time of year!
Save the Dates - New Field Trips Coming Soon
We have two more great field trips scheduled for this year. Please sign the permission forms that we sent home yesterday and return them by Friday. There is no cost to you for these trips. Thank you.
Wednesday, November 18, Rio Salado nature walk and hike, 8:30 AM – 12:00 PM, 2349 South Central Avenue, Phoenix. We are taking the city bus and will have a brown bag PBJ lunch to eat there. This is a wonderful opportunity to learn about a river habitat including plants and animals that are native to our lower desert. Rio Salado habitat is a beautiful restored place.
We need five chaperones for this trip. Please let us know. Thank you!
Friday, December 4, Holiday Symphonic Orchestra at Symphony Hall, 9:15 – 11:15 AM. We will walk. This is a concert presented by the Phoenix Symphony especially for students. We already have the chaperones for this trip. Thank you. Have a great week!

Here is a special message from our cafeteria manager, Ms. Cindy Burnside:
“November 19th is our Thanksgiving Feast, you may purchase a ticket in the front office from Jonathon or in the Cafeteria. The tickets will ONLY be on Sale thru NOVEMBER 9th Thank you !!!!”
We will eat lunch together as a whole school community on this day at 12:00 PM. You are welcome to attend. Ms. Cindy does order the food supplies in the advance so if you would like to come, please purchase your ticket early by November 9. Student lunches will be provided at no additional cost to you. Thanks! We are so thankful for our school, our students and for you, our wonderful parents.
Here’s what students say their thankful for: “my family, my friends, the materials in the classroom, my teachers, my pet, my food, my mom and dad, my lessons, my home and my classroom”. Students share their gratitude often. We open our community meetings by students and teachers acknowledging the person or persons they are grateful for. One of today’s compliments was “I am thankful for you because you help me with my work when I am stuck”.
Our gratitude is boundless!

Our Recent Montessori Classroom Presentations
Your wonderful children are on a wave of learning. As a teacher, I observe the beautiful moments when the presentations create a joy and love of learning for each student as they explore. We had an ocean full of joy this week. The first year students are learning about temperature and how to read a thermometer. They are also learning about how the parts (organs) of the plant create a whole system. So much excitement and interest!
Science Center Field Trip Next Week
We have just added this field trip for November 13. We will walk to the science center and will be there all day from 8:45 PM and returning at 3 PM. Five chaperones are needed. Please return the enclosed field trip form with $5 for each student by tomorrow if you have not yet done so. We have received a discounted rate. Usually the cost would be $11. So the $5 includes IMAX theatre, the entry fee and the Planetarium. The cost for chaperones is also $5.
We will use the study guidelines that the science center provides for students and chaperones. A brown bag PBJ lunch will provided by our school or your child is welcome to pack a lunch if she chooses.

Country Report Kudos
Congratulations to the second and third year students who presented a variety of countries from Asia during International Children’s Day. The posters and hand made booklets were wonderful and the students had multiple opportunities to present. They are public speakers in the making! We hope to publish their photos soon.
The first year students will publish their favorite family recipes book. We enjoyed tasting their food on that day. Thanks for sending the delicious recipes. Stay tuned for the release of their first cookbook.
