Have a poetry read day or night. Some of our favorite poets are in the anthology “A New Treasury of Children’s Poetry” by Joanna Cole.
Visit the library and find poet authors such as Ogden Nash and have fun reading and writing your own poems. Illustrate them and create a book or poetry art wall in your home.
Cook a meal with your children for a neighbor or close friend and deliver it.
Children, begin to use your new reading log and rate the books you read at home. When the log is filled up, bring the log to school and we will have a recommended book wall in our classroom.
