Live Play Performed at Faith North

Dear Parents,

Our class was totally delighted today during the performance of “Ferdinand the Bull”. Childsplay actors were hired by our school. You can check out the book at the library, “The Story of Ferdinand”. The bull truly follows his heart and is not “bullied” into fighting. You’ll find it funny and heartwarming.

Pioneer Village Memories

We celebrated our prairie experience of the Little House book at Pioneer Village last Friday. Thank you parents who provided the prairie food that the students requested. Thanks also to parents who provided transportation. We had a wonderful time! Students wrote about their experience:

The Pioneer Village Artifacts: “There was a pioneer coin.I say it was made around the 1800’s. There was a bow and arrow, marble figure, plants, rocks and steel nails that this man named Blacksmith made and he has to melt it to 360 degrees F.”

“Our class got to go in a house that a mother and father and eight children used to live there. It was cool because we saw a black smith shop. We got to see a gun show at 11:15.” By Salem

“We saw a real gun show, but it was a play at the same time. They had two hogs that were really big. They also had pigs and chickens and roosters. They also had a grave yard which I thought was creepy, that had names of people that worked there. All-in-all I thought it was fun.” By Lyric

Science Fair Timeline

This is week two. Help your child stay on track by reviewing the time line you received in the science packet. The fair is February 19.
• This week begin putting your project notebook together.
• Start collections or experiment.
• Begin designing display unit.

Valentines

We sent a student list home yesterday if your child chooses to send valentines next week. We have suggested that the children bring in a decorated tissue box or shoe box by next Wednesday as a personal mail box. A student committee will let you know if there will be any other special activities on this day. Stay tuned. Thanks.

Chinese Cultural Center

As you know, our class will attend the Chinese Cultural Center this Friday where special activities are planned to celebrate the New Year. We will return to our campus before 1 PM. Our school will provide a brown bag lunch. Your child may enjoy having a few spending dollars also. This is optional.

Class Wish List

Class wish list: Sponges, bird food (lovebird or cockatiel), guinea pig food, Murphy’s Oil Soap and Cascade dishwasher detergent. Thank you!
